Truman asked for 400 million dollars from congress to aid the countries fight communism and it works this is a very important because they won a very geographic and location and it helps contain communism. This helps set a political precedent that the United States cannot trust anyone in Europe.

    Marshall Plan
    The Marshall Plan was a plan that was very similar as the Truman Doctrine. It was created by George Marshall and the idea was to help rebuild Europe from the damage caused by WWII. This would prevent help being given from communist country’s such as Russia and it contain communism. The plan ultimately work even though some countries declined the money and it did not help countries economically.

North Korea crossed the 38th parallel in 1950 into South Korea then U.S. forces came to the aid of South Korea, while China and the Soviet Union which were communist gave aid to North Korea. The war ended and the boarder was reestablished and communism did not spread which was a win for the United States.

    In 1962 the Soviet Union sent nuclear missiles to Cuba this was one of the worst things that could happen to United states considering that Cuba is only 90-miles from nearest U.S. land. On October 28th 1962 John F. Kennedy demanded that the missiles be removed. Russia agreed if the U.S. agreed to remove missiles from Turkey. They reached a political agreement this was the closest the cold war go to a potentially deadly situation.
