Korea was divided into two parts: the north suppoted by the USSR and the south supported by the United States. At the end there wasn't a clear winner, so they signed a pact and the country was divided in two parts. -

Vietnam was divided into two parts: the north that was supported by China and the USSR, and the south supported by United States. Aften 10 years in war, the north invaded the south. -
Hungary Conflict
Hungarian people protested against the communist regime and demanded the freedom from the USSR. There was a rebellion against the Soviet occupation army and it caused riots in streets. Then lots of Hungarian people were massacred and it turned into war. -

It was the first artificial satellite. It was launched by the USSR. -
Building of the Berlin Wall
Germany was divided in two parts: the capitalist part and the socialist part. Also de capital city was divided into these groups, so people built a wall to divide the city in two parts. -

The Cuban Missile Crisis
The Soviets installed some missiles in Cuba which were pointing to the US. The US had some missiles in Turkey pointing to the USSR. There was a big tension for 13 days in which the world could be destroyed. At the end they pact and they didn't throw any missile to the other country. -
The end of the Cold War - The Fall of the Berlin Wall - The end of the USSR
The US and the USSR signed several disarmament and arms reduction agreements. In Germany, the people shot down the wall that divided Berlin and Germany was unified. In the USSR, all the different countries became independents and the USSR dissapeared.
