    “Desiring to establish durable foundations for peaceful coexistence and the development of normal and good relations between them,Anxious to strengthen peace and security in Europe,Aware that the inviolability of frontiers and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all States in Europe within their present frontiers are a basic condition for peace,”
    They agreed on the borders between Germany and Poland. This was meant to ease tensions between countries.

    On September 3, America, Britain, France, and Russia signed the Four Power Agreement. It was meant to lessen the tension between them through Germany.

    The Helsinki Final Act was an agreement signed by 35 nations in Helsinki, Finland on August 1. The Act addressed global issues, impacting not only the Cold War, but general American-Soviet relations, as well.
