    POLISH BORDERS: PL borders would change from their pre-WWII position. USSR would gain large portion of East PL; PL would acquire large part of East GER to the 'Oder-Neisse' Line.
    UNITED NATIONS: 'Big Three' agreed to create an international organisation to 'keep the peace' in the future. Happy Stalin (second front), Sad Churchill (no Balkan invasion)

    German's leave Greece.

  • Yalta Conference

    Main focus was on WWII aftermath. GERMANY & BERLIN DIVIDED: Temp division into 4 'zones of occupation'. 'Big 3' + FR gain Berlin.
    FREE ELECTIONS: GER occupied countries (FR, BEL, PL, CZ), allowed to choose leaders.
    E.EUROPE: Would be USSR 'sphere of influence'.
    UNITED NATIONS: Agreed to establish HQ in New York. Mixed feelings:
    Happy Roosevelt/Churchill (Free elections)
    Happy Stalin (Reparations)
    No reparation agreement and still an issue w/ Poland.
  • Potsdam Conference

    Main focus was on what to do after WWII. GERMANY AND BERLIN DIVIDED: And demilitarized (army disbanded).
    REPARATIONS: GR to pay mainly USSR, not in money but in kind.
    DEMOCRATIC GERMANY: Free elections - timing not specified. Sad Truman (free elections), Sad Stalin (reparations)

    Nikolai Novikov (USSR diplomat in Washington) send a telegram to Moscow, painting negative picture of USA.
    Claims:
    * US wants to use military power to dominate world.
    * US not interested w/ collab w/ USSR.
    * Americans would support war against communism & USSR.
