Berlin Blockade
Wast Berlin was blocked off from the rest of the world under communism. The Soviet Union took control of West Berlin iin 1948. The United States/United Nation took this problem into their own hands and Launched the Berlin Airlift to unblock West Berlin. -
Berlin Airlift
The Berlin Airlift was the responce to the Berlin Blockade. A plane flew in every three minutes loaded with supplies to help West Berlin become strong again. This resulted in West Berlin being unblocked from the rest of the world. -

The Korean War was a result of the Cold War. THe Korean war was fought between North Korea and South Korea, due to different government. The borders did not change as a result of the war. -
President Truman fires General MacArthur
President Truman fired General MacArthur after a disagreenment of how to handle the war. Truman wanted a limited war while MacArthur wanted a full, intense, nuculerar weaponed war. Truman had the final say as to what to do being the comander in cheif, and decided that firing MacArthur was the best option. -
Formation of the Warsaw Pact
The Warsaw Pact was a treaty created by communist countries on the side of the Soviet Union. This was the responce to NATO. This did not allow countries to interfear into foreigh affairs. -

Sputnik was the world first artifical satelite launched into space. It took under an hour to orbit the Earth on its elliptical path. This was the begining of space travel, which has grown and improved because of the success of this mission -
Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban Missile Crisis, also known as the October Crisis ended the navel blockade of Cuba. Missles were fired at Cuba, which resulted in the withdrawal of the Soviet Union's nuclear missiles from Cuba.
