Truman Doctine
Truman proposed a policy to Congress stating that "United States should support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures". They sent aid to Greece and Turkey. He wanted to prevent communism and spread democracy. -
Marshall Plan
Marshall Plan was a massive aid package that United States offered. United States offered offered food and economic assistance to Europe to help rebuild countries. US offered aid to Soviet Union but Stalin forbidded Eastern Europe Countries to accept American aid. -
NATO Pact
The United States, Canada, and ten other countries formed a new military alliance called the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The member of this pledged to help one another if any one of them were attacked. -

Yalta Conference
The Big Three Churchill (Great Britain), President Roosevet (USA), & Stalin (Soviet) at the end of World War II agreed that Stalin would join the fight against Japan to end World War II along as the United States & Great Britain allowed the Soviet Union to control Eastern Europe after the War. The Soviet Union agreed to allow free elections in Eastern Europe. This would & the Soviet Union that would be called the Cold War and last for nearly 45 years.
