Nuclear Bomb Testing
Where many experimetns that were tested by the U.S., to see how effective these bombs were. This would show how strong ones miltary would be. This bomb would be created by one know as Albert Enstien. Theese were created to help defentd our country and to be able to attack other countries when needed. The Manhattan Project was a project was to see how big it was amd what it could actually do. -
Marshall Plan
The Marshall plan was created after World War 2, this was to help europe in there time of need. Many places were ruined like factorys, houses, and other buildings. The United States was to help assest europe in there economic recovery. They ship food, staples, fuel and machinery. We gained relations and traded, which this led to the North Atlantic alliance. -
Creation of Nato
Nato was created for the military aliance, formed from the North Atlantic Treaty. The United States wanna to stop countries from nationlist militarism. The United States was included in with four other countries: Canda, Portugal, Italy< Norway, Denmark, and Iceland in the North Atlantic Treaty. -
Korean War
It was a war between the South Korea and the North Korea. The americans entered this war to stop the communist from the north from trying to rul the south. They divided on the 38th parallel. While the United Nations provieded to south. The Soviet Union was helping the chinese and the north. -
Hydrogen Bomb/testing
The first hydrogen bomb was going to be in the pacific ocean and by the United States. This test would give the a lead in the race against the SOviet Union. This bomb was a 1000 more times powerful than the last bomb. Many people argued that this would create problems and that the Soviet Unoin would be create one next. -
Miracle on ice
The United States put a team together with ameteur and collegiate players led by coach Herb Brooks. They defeated the Soviet Union who had won every championship and the tournament since 1954. Team Usa went on to win the gold metal beating Finland. -
warsaw pact
It was a mutual defense treaty between 8 communist states of the central and Eastern Europe during the cold war. It was established in the Soviest Union and it was a military helping hand to the council for mutual ecoomic assistance. It was a intergration of West Germany into NATO in 1955. -
Vietnam War
This war was against North and Sount Vietnamese. While the communist supported the north and the south was supported by the United States, after the French left . Once again the U.S was trying to stop the communist from taking over. This war was one of the bloodet battles. We have to use many ground attacks and we were supported by air support. They use many different ways to attack by using the basic land around them. It should have been and easy win for use but very diffcult. -
Bay of Pigs
The Bay of Pigs was a unsuccessful U.S attack on Cuba. The Cia which was the people that attacked Cuba wanted to overthrow the goverment. Cuba was asseting the Soviet Union in the cold war. -
Berlin Wall goes up
In August East Germany started to border up west and east. It begin with barbed wire. East Germany wanted to protect the citizens thats why they putit up. It was put up to keep communism out of thier country, they didnt want it to come back to east berlin. -
Cubna missile crisis
It was against the United States and Soviet Union/Cuba. This could have destroyed the world at one point. The united states wanted to attack cuba throught the air but decided not to and attack by military blockade. There was no missile fired, but the soviet union told the u.s. never to atttack cuba again. -
Six Day War
The six day war was fought between Isreal and Egypt, United States, Jordan, and Syria. This war began by a surpise bombing raids at Egypt. Isreal also attack Jordan on the west coast. They once again attacked Syria territory. Isreal gained alot of land after this six day battle. -
Man on the Moon
Apollo 11 was the aircraft that lifted the man to the moon, which the first person would be to step on the moon. We were in a race with the soviet unions to get to the moon first. They collect many things from the moon and taking many pictures. It had to be one of the most exciting things that ever happended in the world. -
Fall of the Soviet Union
They failed to reform a government when Brezhev's died. They didnt have a economic growth or a buildup expense. Several Socialists Republics began resisting central control and led to affecting the government. It finally collapsed in 1991 wen Yeltsin took over. -
Berlin wall goes down
Boarder control were letting people across, quickly people were entering from both sides. People started to begin chipping and hitting the wall with hammers. After that they started to take down bigger pieces. Now people keep them as pieces and memories.
