    In early 1945, with World War II in Europe drawing to a close, Franklin Roosevelt (United States), Winston Churchill (Great Britain), and Joseph Stalin (USSR) called the "Big Three" agreed to meet to discuss war strategy and issues that would affect the postwar world.

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    The countries involved were Japan and United States. These two bombings ended the war in the Pacific, the US was the first to ever set off an atomic bomb. This event showcased our nuclear power and showed how much of a powerhouse we are. Also it showed other countries to not mess with us because we have such large scale weapons. The bombs were so powerful that a total of 150,000-245,000 people were killed in blast.

The Allies divided up the two Koreas after WWII, the US occupied the South while the Soviets occupied the North. But with no established government the two countrys took power into their hands. The North was communist while the South established a right-wing government. The 38th parallel was the dividing line of the two.

    The countries invovled in this conflict were South Vietnam, United States, and South Korea against North Vietnam, Soviet Union, and North Korea. The U.S. government viewed involvement in the war as a way to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment. The North Vietnamese government and Viet Cong were fighting to reunify Vietnam under communist rule. With us help to stop the srpead of communism, the Soviets grew to hate us more.

    The countries involved were Cuba and the United States. This event was an unsuccessful military invasion of Cuba undertaken by the paramilitary group Brigade 2506. A counter-revolutionary military trained and funded by the United States government's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Brigade 2506 intended to overthrow the revolutionary government of President Osvaldo Dorticós Torrado. But they were defeated by Castro's Cuban Army.

    The countries involved were the Soviet Union, US, and Pakistan. The Soviet War in Afghanistan lasted nine years part of the Cold War, it was fought between Soviet-led Afghan forces against multi-national insurgent groups called the Mujahideen. The insurgents received military training in neighboring Pakistan, and billions of dollars from the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.

    The countries involved were the US and the Soviet Union. The "Miracle on Ice" is the name of the medal-round men's ice hockey game during the 1980 Winter Olympics. The United States team, made up of amateur and collegiate players and led by coach Herb Brooks, defeated the Soviet team, who had won nearly every world championship and Olympic tournament since 1954.

When they saw Rocky knock out Drago it was an overwhelming feeling. Tensions were high between the US and The Soviet Union, so making this movie was a risk. It was basically a slap in the face, saying that the US can beat even your strongest fighter.
