    The law was intended to prevent the braodcasting of communist propaganda. The act prohibited anytone to make use of the communist propaganda, violation of this would lead to your property being "padlocked". The law had denied the right of speech which citizens did not agree with.

    Spies in Canada
    `igor Guzenko was born in the Soviet Union. He was assigned to the Soviet Embassy in Ottawa. During his work he learned that the Soviet Union had many spies working in Canada. When he found out that his family and himself were to be sent back to Russia, he decided to inform Canada of the Soviet spies giving the Canadian government useful information n Russia's plans.

    The Soviet Union broke an agreement with its former allies. It attempted to force allies to give up their established rights to occupy the Western part of Germany. This was a failed attempt because the allies organized an airlift to provide the food and other suplies that residents of West Berlin badly needed. This affected Canada because they were able to use the BCATF to bring over the food to West Berlin.

    An intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty. Canada was one of the first countriesn to join the NATO and it waas also the first opeace time alliance Canada joined.

    A war between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republc of Korea. It was a result of the political division of Korea. Canada was giving aid to Korea to help suffering people.

The U.S, Soviet Union and the U.N played major roles in forcing the Allied countries to withdraw. Priminister Pearson had found a sloution to the crisis and was awarded a Nobel prize for it.
