    Billy goes out to check his traps and sees his new neighbors lights on. "That's an atrocious waste of power" his dad says.

    Billy takes dead rabbits to Mr Bailey for his dogs.

    Billy's dad goes over to the neighbors house and takes a look at the stumps. "That lady's a bloody wacker" "Those stumps are bloody atrocious."

    Billy decides not to set any more snares up the hill because of the new neighbor.

    Billy sees the neighbour that bought the house next door.
    The neighbor asks what's in his bag and he shows her the rabbits. "Oh dear, oh the poor little things. What did you want to kill them for?"
    She assumes that he's a "special" kid.

    For the next few weeks, Billy sees people driving up the hill to fix things in the neighbors house.

    Billy creeps around the neighbor's house and she catches him. "Jesus, kid, just give it a break, will you?"

    On Saturday he sets a snare by the lake to catch rabbits. He watches the rabbits nose around.
    At night, he gets up and checks the trap - a rabbit has been caught. Billy feels a sense of guilt. "I felt sorry for it. I knew she[the neighbor] would, too."

    Mr Farrelly's tractor tries to pull the neighbor's car out of the ditch which had been a hassle - "the ambulance blokes had nearly skidded over themselves on the bloody ice, trying to get in to help."
