Creation of Coke
Coke is on officially on sale for the public to buy and drink. (first bottle on the left was the first ever packaging of coke) -
New Bottle Design
The iconic shape of the Coke bottle was created with a triangular logo on the front. -
Change of Ingredients
Cocaine was removed from Coke because of public pressure and Prohibition. -
Cans
Coke created cans that were smaller and cheaper. They received positive feedback from the public. -
Plastic Bottles
Coke worked with the company "PET" and released the first recyclable plastic bottles. It started with 2 liter bottles, and eventually was released in every other size as well. -
Diet Coke
Coke released their first ever extension, which was "Diet Coke" This was lighter, and had no real sugar. -
Glass Bottles
Coke released a new glass bottle. They removed the triangle logo from the front and added a clear, engraved logo near the top of the bottle. This design remained the same for several years. -
Cherry Coke
Coke released Cherry Coke, along with a few other flavored cokes. This also became an instant hit in the public and sales increased. -
Coke II
Coke II, or the "New Coke" was released in 1992. This was a major change to the original coke formula and used high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. This was not a success and got a lot of negative feedback from the public. -
Santa Coke
Coke releases a limited edition line for the holidays. It has Santa on it. This becomes an instant hit. -
Coke II Discontinued
Coke received lots of negative feedback from the public and disappointing sales because of the poor taste and unhealthy ingredients of Coke II. Because of this, Coke II was discontinued in 2002. -
Coke Zero
Coke Zero was released, which had zero sugar and zero calories. Coke also created a new black packaging. This was an instant success and was introduced to Australia a few years after it was released. -
Coke Life
Coke Life was introduced. It was a lower-calorie version of Coca-Cola, made using stevia and sugar as sweeteners. -
Personalized Coke Bottles
Coke released bottles that have common names on them. This was part of their "Share a Coke" campaign where they encouraged people to drink a coke, but also buy one for your friends or family. -
Clear Coke
Coke releases a clear drink by changed the ingredients and taking out caramel to add lemon instead. This was created to compete with "Crystal Pepsi" because Pepsi figured out how to make their caramel clear.
