Where are we now?
Only a few teachers are using coding at this point. It generally only is happening during the hour of code event. The hour of code event through code.org usually happens in December. A few teachers have attending the code.org training but it is not implemented consistently. What are we doing the rest of the school year? -
Osmos with Awbie for Coding
Our Tech Mentor has purchased ipads with osmos to use in her classroom. She will then train the staff and develop a check out system so that other teachers may use the ipads and osmos. -
Lead Teacher for Ozobots Training
Mrs. Sumerford will be trained for ozobots with the expectation that she will come back and train the staff. We will also get a kit of ozobots from the district ILE department. -
Custom Schools Planning Day
We meet with our Personalized Learning Team and discuss future steps. I want to set out a plan on how we can incorporate coding into our personalized learning plans. When can students do coding? How will we roll it out to staff? Certain grade levels or school wide expectation? -
Family Code Night
We are teaming with a cluster of schools to have a Family Code Night. The goal of this event is to promote coding and hopefully spark interest among students and parents.
