Contour Bottle
The root glass company of Terre Haute, Indiana, designed the contour shape bottle. The straight-sided bottle was becoming easily confused with copy cat brands. Coca-Cola wanted a new bottle design so that their customers knew it was the real coke. -
Six Packs
Coca Cola started selling their bottles in packs of four to be more convenient to their customers. Their target market, people ages 12-30, normally use coca cola for drinks at parties and events. Selling coke in six packs makes it more convenient for them. -
Packaging Innovations
People could now purchase coca-cola in different sizes. Shops were now selling 6.5 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, and 26 oz contour bottles. They focused on demographics by taking their customer's busy lifestyles into consideration. The more they are on the go, the more they will need to drink. -

The two liter PET plastic bottle was introduced.This bottle doesn't break, it is re-sealable, it's lightweight, and recyclable. People in their target market, people ages 12-30 care about the environment and encourage recycling. -

The ultra-glass contour bottle was introduced. This was designed to improve impact resistance, reduce weight, and reduce cost. They are 40% stronger and 20% lighter than the original contour bottle. This saves about 52,000 metric tons of glass in 2006. -
Aluminum Bottles
Coca Cola introduced a new aluminum contour bottle called the M5 (magnificent 5). They did this by joining forces with design firms from 5 continents. This new bottle was much more durable for their target market. -
Green Bottle
The new Plant Bottle was introduced into the U.S. This bottle is a competely recyclable PET container made with 30% plant materials, which includes sugar cane extracts. This satisfys their target market because their target market is mostly eco-friendly. -
Name on Bottles
Coca Cola added Great Britain's most popular names for the Share A Coke campaign that lasted a summer. This was directed towards their target market because they want to buy something, like a coke bottle, that has their name on it.
