Carlo Collodi was born with his other ten siblings in the town of Florence. But only 3 of them made it to adulthood. This would've made his life very depressing and make all the things he thought about not very bright. -
Carlo Joins the Tuscan Army.
Carlo served as a volunteer with the Tuscan army during the Italian wars of independence (1848 and 1860). This would've impacted Pinocchio because all the people getting hurt and killed would of given him ideas on the book. It probably made him think about problem that could involve attempted killing and explosions. -

In 1856 Carlo Collodi wrote his first book called Friends of the House (Gli amici di casa). Its was a funny Guide Book. This would've impacted him by giving him experience and an idea of how to write a good book. -
