Sand Creek Massacre
The Sand Creek Massacre is also known for the Chivington Massacre. This started on November 29th 1864. Where 700 men forced themselves on Colorado Milita Territory and destroyed the Cheyenne and Arapaho encamped in southeastern Colorado Territory. I has been reported that 70-163 Native Americans were killed. -
Medicine Lodge Treaty
It was made of 3 treaties. The U.S Indian Peace Commission signed three treaties at the Medicine Lodge Creek near Medicine Lodge, Kansas. The First was with the Kiowa and Comache.Second the confederate plains Apaches Kiowa and Comanche.. 3rd Negociated with the Aprapaho and Cheyenne. -
Ghost Dance movement begins
Ghost Dance started somewhat around the 1870's. Native American's had created a dance, that will hopefully bring the buffalo back and scare off the white men. Instead it just made the white men even more mad. American had imprisoned on reservations. -
Battle of Palo Duro Canyon
Comanche, Cheyenne, Kiowa. Texas Panhandle. Rondald S Mackenzie lead the 4th U.S. Calvary moved up from the Norht. September 28th one of Mackenzies troops found Indian camp, and this led to the loss of Palo Duro. -
Battle of the Little Big Horn
The War was between the Lakotas Northern Cheyenna and Arapaho tribes, against the 7th Calvary Reginment Untied States Army. It happend by Little Bighorn eastern Montana Territory. It was indeed a vitory for the Native American Tribes. -
Relocation of the Nez Perce
This war consisted of many bands of Native Americans. Before Lewis and Clark the Nez Pere ran through Idaho, northeast Oregon, and southeast Washington. The Nez hunted, fish, they collected camas and biscuitroot. But as life went on, their lifes changed, because of farmers, missionaries, trappers, traders, and soliders. This had chaged a lot of things which caused them the relocate. -
Capture of Geronomo
The band had agreed to live on the San Carlos Reservation in May 1885. However, a band of Apaches fled to New Mexico. Also, many people left their commander alone embarrased after they got Geronomo to surrender. -
Wounded Knee Massacre
This had happened on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota USA. This was led by the U.S 7th Calvary Regiment. The Commander was Samuel M Whitside. On December 29th the troops went into the camp to disarm the Lakota. 150 men, women, and children were killed and 51 wounded. -
2nd Treaty of Laramie
Sioux Treaty of 1868 agreement between the United States, Ogalala, Minoconjal and Brue. Fort Laramie in Wyoming Territory guarenting the Lakotas ownership of the Black Hills.
