    Sand Creek Massacre
    700 men forced to destory Cheyenne and Arapaho in southeastern Colorado Territory. They killed 70-163 Indians and about two thirds were children and women. They also used cannons to destory all living headquarters.

    This treaty was an overall of three treaties signed by the United States for the Indians. It was intended to bring peace to the relocating of the Native Americans. By 1868 it had been concluded that the wars would be preventable.

    in may of 1877 the government ordered the "non-treaty" that the Nez Perce must relocate by June 14th. Violance began to erupt so the leader decided that they would all flee to Canada. The battled against troops to get to Canada but they came up 1,100 miles short of the border.

    This was a Native American religious movement that was started by Wovoka. Native Americans wanted the buffalo to return and the white man to leave their land. Some different tribes practiced this ritual, which worried the US government.

    This was the last battle of American Indian Wars. The Americans won this war. It was a tribesmen that refused to give up his rifle and U.S. army took over and killed around 300 Lakota.
