    Created a new nation on people's freedom, (Individual Freedoms) Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness. But this did not follow with African Americans and indentured servants. Only with white people that have been citizens of the united states.

    Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise
    This prohibited the import and export of slaves for 20 years. This was mainly good for the south. It meant that the government was saying the south could import slaves without a tax for 20 years.

    A rebellion that was led by slaves. They rebelled against their master and other plantations. The rebellion killed 55 to 65 people. 51 of which were white.

    A act that tried to stop the expansion of slavery into new territory. The wilmot proviso stated that any territory gained from mexico in the war, would not allow slavery. This helped the north get more territory for their efforts in stopping slavery.
