The celebrated March to the Sea was led by William T. Sherman. The March to the Sea was when Sherman led approximately 62,000 troops from Atlanta to Savannah across the Atlantic coast, destroying everything in their way. This destroyed the Confederacy's supply lines and their transportation systems. -

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Washington D.C while watching a play in Ford's Theatre on April 14, 1865. He was shot in the head by John Wilkes Booth, and Lincoln died the next morning. Lincoln's death put America in a great despair and the search or Booth and his accomplices was one of the biggest man hunts in American History. -

This signifies the end of the Civil war and the start of a new age, an age of equality and freedom.
