    The south wanted to expand slavery to all new parts of the south, but the didn't like that. John C. Calhoun refused the compromise and tried to abolish slavery though out the entire North and South. ( New Ga Encyclopedia)

    Sharecropping

    Sharecropping made it possible for freedman to start over, but in a terrible way. The freedman had to go in debt before they could even get paid. It stared in Ga and quickly flourished throughout the south. (New Ga Encyclopedia)
  • Chickamauga

    The second horrific battle compared to Gettysburg. The mill on the Chickamauga hill was taken multiple times by both north and south.

  • Henry McNeal Turner

    Henry McNeal Turner was the first african american legislature but got kicked out of office soon after. Henry grew up in a hard family and once he got in office it was even harder. He got multiple death threats from many "racist societies".
  • Gettysburg

    One of the bloodiest battles ever; both sides suffered major casualties. The battle lasting only three days each side lost thousand upon thousands of men. (New Ga Encyclopedia)
  • The Ga Platform

    The North had to agree to what the south wanted (like the Fugitive Slave Act) or else they would start war. The north accepted these conditions but still made secession inevitable. (New Ga Encyclopedia)
