The secession of Virginia was about how Richmond wanted to determine secession from the United States, to govern the state during the emergency and also to write a new constitution of Virginia.

Fort Sumter
A 33 hour bombardment by confederate cannons, and the union forces surrender.The first engagement ended the war in Rebel Victory.
There was no casualties during the confederates bombardment. Unions death came during the evacuation which was one soldier was killed and another wounded in a accidental explosion. -
Battle at Bull Run
The first battle of Manassas and was also the first major battle of the American civil war and was a confederate victory.
Both Union & Confederates suffered around 390 killed, 1,600 wounded, and about a dozen missing, they both had a total around 30,800 soldiers in the beginning. -
Battle at Shiloh
Battle of Shiloh was also known as the battle of Pittsburgh landing, this was one of the major early engagements of the American Civil War. It started with the confederate army launched a surprise attack on the Union forces.
Union: 62,000 troops were killed,wounded, captured or missing.
Confederate: more than 10,000 casualties -
Battle at Richmond
The battle of Richmond was a confederate victory. It was the first major battle of the Kentucky Campaign.
Union: 206 killed, 844 wounded, & 4,303 went missing or captured
Confederate: 78 killed, 372 wounded, & 1 missing -
Battle at Antietam
It was one of the bloodiest single-day battle in America history! The battle ended the Confederate invasion of Maryland and resulted in a Union Victory.
Union: 2,100 killed, 9,550 wounded, & 750 captured or missing
Confederate: 1,550 killed, 7,750 wounded, & 1,020 captured or missing -
Emancipation Proclamation
The emancipation proclamation was issued by Abraham Lincoln and it proclaimed the freedom of slavery in the ten confederate states that are still in the rebellion. Also that slaves could be established in the union army, which increases that unions power.
They're weren't any casualties when the proclamation was issued. -
Battle at Gettysburg
It was a Union victory, that stopped the confederate leader General Robert E. Lee second invasion towards the North. It was also one of the bloodiest days in history for the American Civil War.
Union: 3,155 killed, 14,529 wounded, & 5,365 missing
Confederate: 3,903 killed, 18,735 wounded, & 5,425 missing -
Gettysburg Address
The Gettysburg Address is a speech that president Abraham Lincoln gave during the American Civil War and a dedication towards the people who fought and died.
There were no casualties when the speech was given. -
Surrender at Appomattox
The surrender of Appomattox is about how the General Robert E. Lee surrendered his army of the North to the army of General Ulysses S. Grant, which lead to the end of the American civil war. It was also considered the last battle of the American Civil War.
The casualties weren't a lot but 260 for the Union and 440 for the Confederates, before grant received lee's letter. -
The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
At Ford's theater president Lincoln was assassinated by Johns Wilkes Booth. This attack came five days after the Confederate leader Robert E. Lee surrendered to the union army.
The only casualtie was President Lincoln.
