President election
The governor in the south elected Jefferson Davis as their president. The states made up of South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennesse. They form the Confederate states of America. This is important because it involved the presidents. -
President Lincoln Elected
A month after Jefferson was elected for the south. The union elected Abraham Lincoln president of the North. He addressed that no state had the right to leave the union. This is important because he was the president of the North. -
First battle of bull run
The confederate won this one. It was one of the first battles. Lee was the general during this war.This is important because it is a war that has happened. -
The battle of Shiloh
It was an Union territorial victory though they did lose more soldiers. The victory split up the confederates eastern states from the western states. So there for they could not send supplies from the west. -
Second battle of Bull Run
The confederates beat the union with 55,000 men. The union were lead by general John Pope. The confederates were lead by general Stonewall Jackson. -
Battle of Antietam
This battle was one of the bloodiest,possibly the bloodiest battle. There was over 22,700 dead/wounded.President Lincoln wrote a speech after the victory to free all slaves. This is important because it involves one of the battles during the civil war. -

The army of potomac under general suffers a huge defeat. The lost 12,653 men. The Confederates lost 5,309 men. This is important because of how many men were killed and it was one of the important battles. -
Chancellorsville
The Union Army under Gen. Hooker is decisively defeated by Lee's much smaller forces. The union lost 17,000 out of 130,000. The confederates lost 13,000 out of 60,000. It is imortant because It was one of the important battles. -

The most famous war in the civil war. The Union beat the confederates. Many men were killed from both sides. This is important because it is a famous battle. -
