June 1st, Sheridan’s troopers threw back an attack by Confederate infantry, because they were relying on their new repeating carbines and shallow entrenchments. Both armies were on the field on June 2nd. June 3rd three different crops were slaughtered at all points and assaulted along the Bethesda Church-Cold Harbor line. -
Sherman's Army Reaches Atlanta
Sherman's army deffeated Atlanta. He wanted to chase the Confederate troops through northern Georgia in a vain attempt to lure them into a decisive fight, for the next couple weeks. The Confederate's evasive tactics doomed Sherman's plan to get victory on the battle field. -
Sherman's March to the Sea Begins
Sherman burned the heart of Atlanta down to the ground so there was nothing left. After that was done the began the March to sea. After Sherman drove the Confederates out of Atlanta he entered another city, that only had churches, courthouse and the city’s private residences. -

The March to the Sea ended by the capture of the port of Savannah. Sherman destroyed infrastructure, industry, civillian property, and military targets. Sherman defied military principles by operating deep within enemy territory and without lines of supplies or communication. -

Jefferson was the president of the Confederacy. During the Civil War he was president of the Confederate states. He was caught when the Union Army caught up to him in Irwinville, Georgia. At Appomattox in Virginia was where he surrenderd to Grant.
