This was when the north made a comprimise to the south saying that if we lower the tarriff then slave tading will have to end in 20 yrs. This led to farmers haveing to look for others ways on getting slaves like reproduction and sneaking them in to the states. -

The south wanted black to count as population. They ended up haveing to pay 3/5ths taxs on there slaves for them to be able to become part of the population. This was first time the goverment faught over slavery under the new constitution. -
whitney & The cotton gin
This made picking cotton more of a prophet. When the plantations are making more money and need to process as much cotton as they can they need more slaves. this made plantion owners buying and producing more slaves, making north made over the tremedous grouth on slave population. -
