The Dred Scott Decision was the rock bottom for slaves. It told them that there was no freedom for them. In a place that stressed equitability and freedom the slaves lost their hope. Secession of South Carolina
When South Carolina decided to secced was when the North knew that the South would did not want to give up slavery. They had more than their money at stake giving up slavery ment giving up a part of life for them. Lincoln didn't want to end slavery just stop the spread of it west. Had the South been happy with the idea that they can't spread slavery then the war might have not been fought. -
Attack on Fort Sumter
The attack was a declaration of war. This was the main cause of the war. However without the other events South Carolina might not have left the States. Since the south was ready to fight for their slavery this was the reason the civil war started.
