When people found out people were suprised and taken back. It was the reason that Europe was not involed in the war. Without this book we might have lost the war.

    The Dred Scott Decision was the rock bottom for slaves. It told them that there was no freedom for them. In a place that stressed equitability and freedom the slaves lost their hope. The Northern's that heard this might have felt pity for this race that was nothing more than property. This might be a reson that the Northener's even cared.

They had more than their money at stake giving up slavery ment giving up a part of life for them. Lincoln didn't want to end slavery just stop the spread of it west. Had the South been happy with the idea that they can't spread slavery then the war might have not been fought.
