This is the official date of the end of WW2, The day Japan surrendered aboard the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay. When soldiers came home they where seen as heroes, but African-American soldiers where still treated as second class citizens. -
Brown v. BOE

March on Washington
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a protest in Washington D.C.. King, followed by 200,000, Marched to put pressure on congress to pass the civil rights bill and advocate for fair employment, housing, and education.

16th Street Church Bombings
White Supremacist group the KKK bombed a baptist church near Birmingham Alabama. The bombing killed four black children.

Selma
Dr. King and over 300 others protested and walked from Selma Alabama to Montgomery. They where met with incredible force but where escorted through by national guardsman.

Assassination of Dr.King
Dr. King was assassinated on the balcony of his hotel in Memphis Tennessee. Riots broke out in cities all across the U.S. but Atlanta stayed peaceful.
