    dread scott v sandford was a case about scott filing for his freedom in missouri a free state he said that he lived in a free state making him a free man he ended up losing the court said since he was the son of a slave he couldnt be a free man

    the 13th amendment says that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction"(congress.gov).

    the americans with disabilities act was a law to protect disabled people from discrimination. it was an important step in keeping everyone equal. this also allowed disabled americans to have the same opportunities as non-disabled people and participate in government programs

    this act made voter requirements with respect to elections. this makes states require voting registration. and this is important for voting

    there was a disturbance in a residence and when the cops arrive there was a man comiting a sexual act with another man. this was against the law in texas so he was taken to court. the court decided that it was unconstitutional and the case was appealed.

    Obergefell v. Hodges was a case over same sex marrige. this was a group of cases where the plaintiffs argued that this violated the equal rights act. this ended in the legalization of same sex marrige.
