Linda Brown was not able to attend a school for whit echildren in walking distance from her home. Instead she had to take the bus to a black school across town. So her father sued the Board of Education and won, outlawing school segregation.

Emmit Till Murder

Emmit Till is murdered after being tracked down and brutally beat after whistling at a white woman.

Integration of Little Rock High School

Sep 4, 1957

9 black children enrolled in an all-white school resulting in an extreme uprising in the white community.

On a march to the statehouse in Alabama blacks were stopped by state troopers and beat.
