The state of Lousiana enacts a law that requires seperate railway cars for blacks and for whites. In 1892, Homer Plessy sits in "whites only" train. He refuses to changes train cars. The Supreme Court rules that seperates train for blacks and whites is legal. -

Linda's father sues school board of Topeka, Kansas. The Supreme Court agrees to hear the case.
In 1954, the Supreme Court declares school segregation is unconstitutional.
