Hebrew Benevolent Bombed
The temple was in atlanta GA and was bombed in the the morning time. The bomb consisted of fifty sticks of dynamite that blew threw a wall of the most expensive and oldest synagogue of Atlanta. Gladly not a sigle person got injured.

16th street baptist church bombing
Someone bombed a church for blacks and it killed 4 inocent litttle girls. The church was targetted because it was African American. But on the up side it strongly helped the civil rights act and made it move along much faster. -
Brown Vs. Board of Edu.
The case was to end segrigation in schools. Some of the main people are Linda and Oliver, infact the case was named after linda because she had to go a very far distance to get to her school every day. She was denied entry to a nearby all white school.

Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott
This event happened when Rosa Parks gto told to get up out of her seat on a bus so a white man could sit in it and she refused to do so. She got majorly punished in many ways, but later t payed off. What she did strongly helped martin luther king and the civil rights movement.

Change in Georgias state flag
The flag changed many times but one of the most memerable flags was the confederate flag. It was based on the military, by having a blue verticle stripe on it. But the people didnt agree with that flag so it got repealed and replaced by a different one.

Crisis at central high school and "Little Rock Nine"
Little rock nine was a band of teens highschool students that got into Little rock central highschool. But they werent aloud to go in because of the racial segrigation laws. They eventually made the famous case of Brown Vs board of Edu. happen witch made the segrigation laws nearly vanish.

Sibley Commission
The Sibley commission is when a governor had to choose between closing public schools or allowing blacks to attend them. After a large debate he decicded to desegrigate the public schools.

Integration of the university of GA.
A judge named W. A. Bootle stoped the segrigation of a school that had segrigation for a total of 160 years. It causes big problems with the state legislatures wich then caused a stop in all funds immediatly to any places that supported blacks. Then that caused riots to start breaking out on Jan 11.

Freedom Rides
The freedom rides were when a group of blacks and whites would go around and try to change the rights of transpertaion for blacks.
The frist group of them made it to were segrigation was unconstitutioinaly in busses and on trains mainly.

Albany Movement
It was a nonviolent movement to desegrigate. The leader of it was William G. Anderson then later in the movement Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. got involved. The movement strongly helped the civil rights movement.

Birmingham, AL protests
Birmingham had a rep. of unsolved bombings so it had a nickname named bombingham. They wanted to change the city and make it better by having only one head of government, a mayor. People ran for mayor but a man named Albert Boutwel won the election. Then a large group of 45 protesters decided to march to the city hall and then got arrested for it.

Marching on Washington DC
This event was named one of the largest pollitical rallies ever. During this march Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke his most memorable speech called "I have a dream" and it emensly helped the civil rights movement. This speech did amazing things.

John F. Kennedy assassination
He was driving down the road in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas when suddenly a shot was fired. Then another and another. Kennnedy had been assassinated. The person who fired those shots that killed JFK was named Lee Harvey Oswald. He clamed he did it completely alone and unassisted.

Civil rights act 1964 passed
The law was passed which made it to where blacks had equal rights and could do as if they were normal people instead of outcasts. Also the law helped out women to be able to be equal to men. The act was signed by Lyndon B. Johnson the president of that time.

This law made it to were any givin person that wanted to vote could. So there was no longer any leagel discrimination of any kind of person, black, white, women, men. Nothing. The president Lyndon B. Johnson signed off on this one as well as he did on the civil rights act being passed.

Summerhill Race Riot
The summerhill race riot was when many Black leaders in Atlanta decided to follow the command of the mayor of Atlanta named Ivan Allen. He made everything come back into order so it did good.

MLK assassination
This man was one of the most important African American leaders in the civil rights movement and he got murdered in a place called Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The man that killed him got caught and sent to prison for a long 99 years period.

All GA schools integrated
All of the public schools in Georgia made it to were boths blacks and whites could attend them. That marked the very end of the civil rights movement.
