Rep. Jeannette Rankin becomes the first women elected to congress. -
19th Amendment
Gives women the right to vote. -
Ozawa v. United States
The Supreme Court denied Japanese residents the right to naturalization because they were ineligible for citizenship as were foreign - born Chinese. -
The Immigration Act
The act keeps any " aliens ineligible to citizenship " from entering the United States. -
Indian Citizenship Act of 1924
Granting American citizenship to Native Americans. -
JACL
