In 1955 a colored woman named Rosa Parks got on a bus and was asked to give up her seat to a white man. She refused and was arrested immediately. Many other people of color thought this was unfair, so they decided to not take buses til they got the respect they deserve.

The March on Washington was a non-violent march. It was from Alabama to Washington, D.C. in front of the Lincoln memorial to support the right of jobs and freedom for people of color.

Lyndon B. Johnson signs the into law that under the 15th commandment that people of color had the right to vote. Just like the white right to vote. It is consider the most far-reaching pieces of the civil rights legislation in US history.
