1956 State Flag

Sibley Commision
in 1960 Georgia's governor Ernest Vandiver had to decide to either desegregate schools under federal laws or to close them. Vandiver decided to ask Georgia's citizens and see which on ethey prefer. After voting, the data showed that 60% of Georgias citizens would rather shut down the schools than intergrate them. Soon after, Georgia's schools began to desegregate. -
Albany Movement
The Albany Movement was a successful failure. The failure was that over 1,000 African Americans got arrested in the protest, but the sussess was that other people learned from that and realized that is was the beggining of the end of segregation.
