Civil Rights Act of 1964
Banned voter suppression laws such as poll taxes, also it restrained government funding to racially discriminatory organizations. In addition, it banned all transportational segregation. Major win for t he zcivil rights movement. -
MLK’s Death
His death was a very sinister message to the Civil Rights movement. Many lost hope in continuing the movement as they felt no one could lead them better. Over 121 riots broke out all over the country in response.
