KKK Founded
A group set on taking down the rights of the African Americans in the south and ending the Progressive Era in the south. -
The Beginning
This was the start of the civil rights movement. The Fourteenth amendment is passed, protecting African Americans under the law. -
15th Amendment
Granted the right for African Americans to vote. -
Civil Rights Act
This act was passed in response to many white business owners who refused to make their services available to African Americans.This also acted on the verbal discrimination taking place. -
NAACP
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded by a multi-racial group of activists in New York, it was done in light of the political and economical struggle of African Americans. -
Equal Armed Services
Truman ordered that it was the right of every president that everyone had a chance to be in the Military. Regardless of race and so on. -
Education
Brown Vs. Board of Educationof Topeka, Kansas. It's determined that segragation at schools are unconstitutional. -
Two White Boys
One man is brutally attacked and killed for supposedly whistling at two women. Two boys accused of attacking him are faced with an all-white court. This starts up issues on it. -
Rosa Parks
An African American woman refused to give up her seat on the bus. -

Martin Luther King
Is made president and makes SCLC which is key to giving rights to all and erasing the segregation. -
School
Nine African American students were threatened by the KKK (In the heat of the KKK Movement) to not go into school. The school was surrounded by police and 1,000 people onlooking as the students were escorted in. -
Given Service
Four boys sat at a segregated table. Although refused service, they were allowed to sit there. Six months later, they were offered service and carved the road between blacks and whites. -
Change
James Meredith became the first black student to enroll at the University of Mississippi. President Kennedy sent 5,000 federal troops to contain the violence and riots surrounding the incident. -
I Have a Dream
More than 250,000 people gathered to hear King's speech. -
The End
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed acts of racism, sexism, and judging of religious or ethnic placements.
