    The court case Plessy V Ferguson concluded that separate but equal is okay. even though it does not sound like such a great accomplishment, it was for black people back during the civil rights movement. the court case could be thought of as almost a turning point for the direction civil rights was going for black people. it was the first time there were said to be equal.

    this is the court case where they determined that separate but equal is not okay and ended segregation in public schools. this was a day when black people celebrated all over the country because they could finally be recognized as completely equal. even if people didnt fully accept it at first. this case made it a law to desegragate schools which means the black people could go into a public place as an equal people.

    Rosa Parks is one of the most taked about civil rights actovists. probably because she was ablack women during the civil rights which means she wasn't respected as a women citizen and looked down upon for her skin color. but one day she had enough of being looked down upon and decided to sit in the front of a public bus where it was reserved for whites and everyone knew it. after refusing to move to the back of the bus after being asked by the bus driver, he was arrested for disorderly conduct.

    On September 9, 1957, president Eisenhower signed and put in to law the Civil Rights Act of 1957. this law gave the federal government the right to desegragate. this made it legal for blacks to go to the same public schools as white kids did. it made it to where segragation at all was illegal. this meant victory for the black people.

    the Civil Rights Act of 1964 marks the end to the civil rights movement. This law was primarily set in place for the African American people of the time. but it also "freed" a lot of other groups of people. the law states that there can be no discrimination because of race, religion, national origin, or gender. this law will help women gain more rights in the future.
