They waited until the court gave them the right to protest without police interference. Once they granted their right and they started again. This time it was successful. In 1958, a black woman and a white man got married. Moments later after their marriage, they got caught and were arrested for interracial marriage. Then on 1967 Supreme Court decided to make interracial marriages constitutional. -

Once the "Star Spangles Banners" played the two held their hand up with a black glove on to represent black power. They had black socks on but no shoes to show the poverty. John had his tracksuit jacket unzipped to show the unity of all African American blue collar workers. -
