Fugitive Slave Act of 1850
-Congress passed the act.
-It allowed people to capture freed slaves that escaped from the south. -

-5000 people from nearby proslavery Missouri came and voted for proslavery representatives in Kansas illegally.
-The anit-slavery govenm. was attacked by the pro-slavery ppl.
-To get revenge, John Brown murdered his pro-slavery nieghbors. -
Dred Scott Decision
-Dred was a slave who lived in a free state.
-All blacks, free and slaves, couldnt be a citizen.
-They made the Missouri Compromise unconstitutional.
-Slavery was allowed everywhere. -
Attack on Harpers Ferry
-John Brown wanted to inspire slaves to fight for their freedom.
-He planned to capture the arsenal at the army base in Harpers.
-But he was captured.
-He was killed by abolitionists -
