The bell was ordered in 1751 to honor the 50year anniversary of William Pen's charter of privilege and chimed for the first time in 1776 with the reading of the Declaration of Independence. -

Washington Monument
It was made to commemorate George Washington, he was a commander in chief in the Continental Army and was first President of the United States. Constructed in 1848 but had to stop because funds ran out. They were able to lay the cornerstone in 1884 but wasn't officially dedicated until 1885 but didn't officially open until 1888. -
