The Mac Portable - the PowerBook 100
The PowerBook project was started by Apple's CEO John Sculley in 1990. The Mac Portable - the PowerBook 100 had a setback keyboard so individuals had room to rest their palms and a front-and-center trackball so both left and right handed users could use it. The Powerbook 100 did not have a floppy disk drive but it did have a Motorola 68000 processor, 2MB of RAM, and a 9 inch backlit LCD screen. It was also manufactured by Sony. -
Palm Pilot 1000
Palm Computing produced the Palm Pilot 1000 and it was introduced in March of 1996. This personal digital assistant (PDA) could fit in your pocket and it had a address book that could hold up to 500 contacts. This device also had a date book, to-do-list, and a memo pad. -
Toshiba SD-2006 DVD Player
Toshiba a Japanese electronics company created the first DVD player. The DVD player was released in the US by Sony in April 1997. When the first DVD players were introduced DVD's became the standard media for watching movies at home. DVD's had higher quality of video images and the presence of numerous extra features packed into the discs capacious storage. -
Panasonic DVD - L10
Panasonic made the first portable DVD player and it was introduced in 1998. The DVD-L10 had a 5 inch color LCD screen with a pair of stereo speakers. The device was rather hefty but allowed individuals to take watch DVD's anywhere they wanted. -
Game Boy Color
The Game Boy color was developed by Nintendo. It was introduce in the late 1998 with 8-bit color graphics along with a faster processor and additional RAM/VRAM than the original Game Boy. It had a battery life of up to 10 hours and was powered by 2 x AA batteries. The screen size was 2.3 inches and weight 4.9 oz.
