One of the first handheld calculators introduced in early 1971. Although handheld calculators were invented in 1967 they weren't mass-produced until 1970. It cost $345 in 1971 but today it would cost about $1900! -
Intel 4004
The first commercial produced general microprocessor. Invented by Enrico Faggin it was 5 times as fast and half as costly to produce than other processors of its time. -
The C Programming Language
Developed by Dennis Ritchie between 1972 and 1973. It is still used today and has been used as the basis for many other programing languages as well. -
Cray-1
The Cray-1 was designed by Seymour Cray and was the first super computer to use vector processing. This led to superior performance and vector processing was used in super computers until 1990. -
Atari 2600
One of the first video-game consoles. It made popular microprocessor based hardware and ROM game cartridges.
