    Baseball was invented in 1839 in Cooperstown, New York.

    Ice Hockey was created by James Creighton on March 3rd, 1875. The first ice rink in the United States built for Ice Hockey was created in Baltimore, Maryland in 1894.

    Basketball was created by James Naismith in Springfield Massachusets in 1891. He wanted the sport to be a less injury-prone version of Football and he wanted it to be able to be played inside during winter months.

    Volleyball was created by William G. Morgan in 1895 in Holyoke, Massachusets. William originally called Vollyball "Mintonette".

    Football was invented on November 6, 1892, by Walter Chauncey Camp. He was a Yale University athlete and coach. He is now known as the "father of American football."
    The first "intercollegiate" football game was played in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

    The MBL was founded in 1903. It was created because the National League was not doing too well and was proved to be inefficient. So they combined the NL (the National League) and the American League together to create the MLB.

    On September 17, 1920, ten different football teams got together to create the American Professional Football Association (APFA). As the teams grew, the APFA kept expanding. Later on June 24, 1922, the APFA changed their name to NFL becoming what we know it to be now.
