Chris is forced to leave his car due to the damage done by a flash flood. He now has to travel on foot with only the supplies he could fit on his back.

Parents Worried
Chris McCandles parents drive to Atlanta to visit their son. When, they get there they discover that his apartment has been vacant for at least 5 weeks. They are unaware that Chris has been hitchhiking for the past month.

Chris buys a canoe
Chris reaches the Colorado River and walks south through the desert until he arrives in Topock, Arizona. Here he buys a second-hand canoe.

Grand Canyon Camp
Chris Mccandless camps at the bottom of the Grand Canyon with a German couple. He also writes in his journal that he has lost over 25 pounds.

ADVENTURE BEGINS!
Chris gets picked up by Jim Gallien. Jim drives him for three hours and brings Chris to Stampede Trail. From there Chris began his adventure in Alaska.

Chris gets lucky
Chris was starving in the woods and food was scarce. Then, he got lucky and found a moose in the woods and succesfully killed it. However, he did not conserve the meat correctly and it went to waste.

Day 100
Chris made it to day 100 in Alaska. He writes in his journal, "WEAKEST CONDITION OF LIFE. DEATH LOOMS AS SERIOUS THREAT".

Body Found
Butch Killian, a local hunter, found Chris's boby in a sleeping bag in a bus. When found Chris had been dead for a couple of weeks, and his remains weighed a total of 67 pounds. The official cause of death was determined to be starvation.
