    Mao Zedong tells a big crowd what the new government will be like and calls it the People's Republic of China.

    The main point were to loosen the control of the government and the citizens were allowed to question the government. A year leader the campaign is stopped.

    Mao created another five year plan to try and keep the country up to standards with other countries in the the industry business.

    Mao changed rules about farming and made food very unstable. During this time period, 36 million people reportatly died.

    Split with the Soviet Union

    After Stalin died, Mao wanted to become the face of communism and take control of communism in Asia and other countries. The new leader wasn't like Stalin, so Mao ended their relationship.
  • Cultural Revolution

    In 1966, Mao Zedong made this decision so he could restate his importance in the government.
