In 2008 Stephen Harper formally apologized to Canadian Aborigonals. In his apology he stated that "... the treatment of children in Indian residential schools is a sad chapter in our history" -
Komagata Maru Incident apology
In May 2008 the British Columbia legislature apologized for the Komagata Maru incident. The incident involved the Komagata Maru being docked for two months while the Canadian government decided its fate.
