    The Shang Dynasty lasted from 1600 BC to 1046 BC. Shang cities had palaces and temples. The people of Shang China made bronze weapons and vessels.

    Lady Hao lived around 1200 BC. She was the wife of Shang king Wu Ding. Very unusually, she was also a military leader. Most of the information we have about Fu Hao comes from oracle bone inscriptions.

    The Zhou Dynasty lasted from 1046 BC to 256 BC. The original Zhou capital had been located near present-day Xi'an. An eastern capital was built at Luoyang.

    Confucius was a man who tried to persuade people to do good in a time where many states across China were often in conflict. Confucius encouraged people to learn from Zhou books. Confucius traveled from Lu to other states in search of a leader that would listen to him. Confucius never influenced a leader to listen to him.

    Legalism
    Philosophers Shang Yang, Li Si, and Hanfeizi formed the ideological basis of China's first imperial dynasty, the Qin. This made laws. This was one of the first legal sytem.

    The First Emperor of China

    The First Emperor of China
    The first emperor of China was Qin Shihuangdi. He became the emperor of Qin. Qin in 246 BC. He was a brilliant general. Qin armies defeated all the other states.
