    The Ming Dynasty asked the Qing warriors for help during a peasant uprising happening in China. Instead of helping the Ming dynasty, the Qing Dynasty thought it was a perfect time to attack and take over, which they did and were successful.

    By 1838, the drug habit amoung the Chinese had grown so widespread and destructive that the Manchu Emperor released an imperial edict forbidding the further sale or use of Opium.

    The Opium War began between Europe and China. Unfortunately, the European's had more better weaponary and the Chinese were vulnerable due to the weakness the Opium drug brought. The Chinese had a great amount of casualties.

    Britain takes control of Hong Kong after the Opium war. China loses one of their biggest cities.

    In 1844, the Manchu Dynasty was forced to permit christian Missonaries back into the country since Britain took over Hong Kong.

    The Taiping Rebellion was a big Civil war in southern China. This was caused by the leader Hong Xiuquan when he stated that he was the younger brother of Jesus.
