    Cesar Chavez was born in Yuma Arizona to immigrant parents. His experience with corrupt contractors and bitter racism led him to want to improve those conditions, and later on created the National Farm Workers Association in 1962.

    Cesar Chavez created the NFWA in August of 1966, this was created due to the working conditions that farmers were facing. The workers weren't receiving basic living needs for putting in the work they did, and only got paid very poorly for their work. In about 10 years it became part of a much larger organization called The United Workers Organization Committee.

    Reagan passes the immigration reform and control act
    On November 6th of 1986 President Reagan passed the immigration and control act. This act granted amnesty to any current undocumented immigrants in the US, increased Mexican border patrol by about 50%, and created greater penalties to any employer who employed and undocumented immigrant.

    Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was created by President Obama with the intent of bringing many benefits to undocumented young people. DACA has some requirements that have to met in order to qualify, but if given, individuals have the right to stay in the U.S temporarily (renewable 3 year period), can apply for social security, and many other benefits.

    Apparently statics says that 57% of Latinos voters say that education is more of an important issue than immigration

    • Public better acknowledged the unequal treatment not only for African Americans but for Latinos as well
    • Leaders better address the entry of Latinos into Government, education, and labor institutions as key figures to not only change the way for Latinos but everyone in the future.
