Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
Chernobyl nuclear power plant was in the city of Pripyat Ukrain. On April 26 1986 a failed reactor test caused the massive nuclear accident. It was considered as the worst nuclear disaster. 200 thousand people were displaced and 54 residents and emergency workers were killed, and many suffered radiation sickness. -

The operator was not familiar with the reactor and had not been trained well, also some people say that safety rules were not followed. -
Evacuation
The soviet authoraties were evacuating people around charnobyl when the accident happened. A month later, all those living with in 18 miles about 116,00 people were relocated. -

The united national development programme(UNDP) started a project called the chernobyl recovery and development programme for the recovery of the areas which the disaster happened. The main goal was to support the government of Ukraine. They work in the affected areas of Ukraine: Kyivsk, Zhytomyrska, chernihivisk and Rivnenska. -
Human Impact
February 2003 was when the chornobyl forum first met for a three day meeting. Governments such as Belarus, Rusia and Ukraine showed for the meeting. Also the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) and the UN were in the meeting. -
Second meeting and third meeting of the forum
The second meeting was held in 10-11 March 2004, and third on april 18-20 2005.. The aim of the Forum was to "scientifically clarify the radiological environmental and health consequences of the Chernobyl accident, to provide advice on and to contribute to a scientifically sound remediation and health care programs. -
