1986-1987 The Soviet Union was responsible for the cleaninng of the Chernobyl's disaster. The reason was for the remaining three reactors could be started up again ,and the reactors that were damaged would be shielded from the people so no one else would be sick. Allowing those reactors to release gas without affecting anyone. -

In 1989 the World Health Organization (WHO) raised awareness for the radioactivity of the Chernobyl's Disaster. Exposure to radioactivity can cause two main problems. Deterministic where the organization is certain that under certain conditions a person will be affected. The powerplant is slowly shutting down. December 2000 the third unit was shut down because of the energy shortages. In 1991 unit 2 shut down because of a turbine hall fire ,and unit one was shut down at the end of 1997. Last one is unit 4 which is now surounded by a concrete wall to continue use of the reactors. -
Still today
25 years later many residents still have not returned to their homes. The land has grown over the buildings due to no upkeep and radiation still lingers
