Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbery, England into a wealthy family as well as into a family of scientists. His father a medical doctor, his grandfather a renowned botanist. His mother passed away when he was only 8 years old. -

Darwin is known for his contentious theory of evolution after a voyage around the world and witnessing geology changes that brought to the surface fossils from long ago that sparked Darwin's mind into the idea that drastic changes were possible over great time.

South America
The Beagle ported several times in South America allowing young and eager Darwin to do some exploring! On his land exhibitions he found himself admiring spiders and wasps, sick a few times(perhaps from getting too close to poisonous species of insects, even barring arms in a battle for Indian discrimination. Galapagos Island
Headed home, Darwin's ship stopped in the volcanic galapagos isles. He and his shipmates brought aboard baby tortoises, and he observed that the birds had differing beaks from island to island. -
Witness to Disaster
In 1835, within a couple of months Darwin became witness to a volcanic eruption of Mount Osorno and an earthquake that caused a typhoon destroying the city of Conception in Chile. It was while walking in the ruins and seeing the earth move upwards that his mind began to wander of life long long ago. -
Geologic Evolution
In the Indian Ocean at The Cape of Good Hope Darwin set out to determine if his theory if coral reefs sat on top of mountain tops. This would mean that once the bottom of the sea floor over time mysteriously and gradually grew into a mountain. His theory was correct. -
Transmutation
After return from voyage, a decent allowance from his father and a grant from Cambridge Darwin and some other great minds that he surrounded himself with really dug into the skulls and bones and features of animals from the past and how they evolved known as "the laws of succession" -
Journal
Charles wrote a 35 page picture book of his theory which he later expanded. He gave instruction to his wife to publish the journal if he died first. -

"On the Origin of Species" was a book that Darwin published from London two decades after he really dug into his theory of evolution upon return fom his famous voyage. This book was wildly popular in the modern western society and had large influence which bloomed throughout the world. -

Darwin died of conjestive heart failure at a family home in Down House, London.
